On August 31, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas declined to issue a preliminary injunction (a temporary pause) sought by Texas, seven other states, and two governors in their lawsuit challenging the legality of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
In light of the order, and given that several other federal courts have issued orders requiring partial continuation of the DACA program pending litigation, DACA renewal applications will continue to be accepted at this time.
